What is Melatonin?
Melatonin is a natural hormone that is produced by our bodies in the pineal gland. When the sun goes down and it darkens, the pineal gland gradually releases melatonin, which prepares the body for sleep. This is the mechanism which regulates the sleep-wake cycle. Melatonin has also been scientifically proven to play a role in regulating body temperature, blood pressure and hormonal levels. This hormone also binds to certain receptors to help relax and relieve tension.
Why take Melatonin?
Supplemental melatonin may compensate deficiencies and supplement the natural production of this hormone by the body, helping to make it easier to fall asleep and improve sleep quality. Our easily digestible tablets contain 5 mg of melatonin, which is more than enough in order to maintain a healthy sleep schedule and shorten the time it takes to fall asleep.
